The Annual Report replaces the twice yearly newsletters that we have published for many years and allows us to provide more information about the work of the Trust and the activities of our newly formed support group, the Friends of Buckingham Churches.

 

This report covers the period to the 30th April 2008. Perhaps the most significant event of 2007-08 was the award to the Trust of a grant of £100,000 through the Landfill Tax Credit System ditributed by WREN.

 

During the year 2007-2008 the Trust approved 12 grants to 11 churches. Seven of the grants were described in the Winter 2008 Newsletter. The other five grants were made to St. Nicholas Cuddington, St. Mary's Addington, St. Mary's Great Brickhill, St. Peter and St. Paul, Olney and St. Mary Magdalene, Willen. The Trust was also able to use funds to slightly increase grants given earlier to three churches outside the WREN area and two within.

 

The launch of the Friends of Buckinghamshire's Historic Churches was celebrated at the Trust's annual reception in June 2008.
