The church was completed in 1930, the brainchild of the Reverend Francis Field. The style is best described as modern Gothic with an early Christian flavour. The church has many unique features but the overall effect is one of monumental simplicity.
 

The basic design of the church, completed in 1991, is a circular auditorium lit by a hugh dome and surrounded on four sides by series of functional rooms. Four tringular shaped courtyards provide light within the complex.
